Will justice prevail?

Clay Cooper is helping Dean Hollister with a stakeout. They're watching Frank Ross sitting alone on a park bench, petting his dog, and talking to it. They both know there's only one reason Frank hasn't fried for his crimes, and it isn't because he's innocent. However, he IS good at detecting surveillance so how will they ever bring him to justice?
Turns out Dean has a couple of ideas on that, and Elliott agrees they're at least worth trying. Goodness knows somebody needs to get this guy off the streets. Question is: will their plan succeed or blow up in their faces?
Easily read in half an hour (or less) this is another good (albeit short) story to add to the series. Quite enjoyable.
(And, yes, I know Frank's name is not the one mentioned in the description, but he is the subject of their surveillance nonetheless. As for Renatti? Don't worry. He'll be a part of the story as well.)

Movie trivia or life saving fact?

Beginning with the title of the story, this piece is rich in old movie connections. It could almost have been called Left Rear Window, but perhaps Bill Bernico is saving that title for another foray into detection. It helps to have read one or two others of the Cooper Collection as the character of Elliot Cooper is not well developed in this short story. However, the plot does not lack in twists, evident though they may be, that will delight pulp fiction fans and detective groupies. A satisfying resolution tops things off.

Enjoyable short detective story that always lifts my boat!

Okay, so the third word should have been "think" not "thing", but thereafter tale immediately settled in to the action and humor I expected of these works from the author, Bill Bernico such that I've come to thoroughly enjoy each and every episode to date. I'm glad I have a stash of these on my kindle and recommend the same of everybody!
